Site problem 5/22/2000: From approx 7 p.m. through 11:30 p.m., pictures from
April 15 forward were unavailable due to a misplaced configuration entry. :-( I just happened
to notice the problem and notify an engineer who got it fixed. This didn't
affect regular customers; just the box that I'm hosting part of my site on. (Unfortunately
its all the new stuff.) Anytime you happen to notice a problem loading my site, fire me off
an email and I'll check it out ASAP. Thanks.
The new file system conversion is done!
Instead of displaying all of them on a page, it splits the file down to a manageable level.
Thanks for your patience as this very necessary task was completed.
(Only a few remain to be watermarked with my copyright notice.)
The next step will be to go through the files and weed out any images that are not on the server.
(You'll notice them as "X"'s instead of an image displayed on the smaller indexes. (If you see
it on the large page you may have to just keep clicking reload until they all appear...your
browser is timing out due to the number of images.)
Regarding the weeding out process, I'll probably write a program that looks for a filename on
the server and numbers it accordingly. It may take a while to write depending on my
schedule at work. (Its still faster to display and step through the smaller sized image format.)
I'll probably concentrate on uploading the pictures I've taken in the past but that have
never been posted before I weed out the empties.
